Haskett Family Photograph Collection 1897-1943

The Haskett Collection contains family papers, correspondence, photographs, postcards, scrapbooks, slides, blueprints, and ephemera. Varying widely in their subjects and unified by their passing to Jon Haskett. These documents pertain to the past three generations of the Haskett and Baker families. The families both arrived in California in the late 19th century and were united by the marriage of Clara Beymer Baker to William Blair Haskett, both of Pasadena, California. The materials in the collection date from 1861 to 1928, with the bulk of the collection between 1880 and 1919.Of noted interest is the variety of nineteenth and early twentieth century photography found in the collection, including southwestern U.S. views, portraits of American Indians, European stereoscopic views, and Matthew Brady’s Civil War Generals carte de visite set.
